Why is everyone so obssessed with the Pumpkin flavor during the months of Sep-Nov? I however am always in the mood for it. Why is Pumpkin Spice the worldwide trend for flavor in drinks, snacks, tooothpaste and scents? If you go into a grocery store you will find punpkin spice little debbie snacks, cereal and much more. If I hear the words “Pumpkin Spice” I will more likely buy the product. Well of course we always see PUmpkins being sold in the autum season but what is it in pumpkin that makes it so deilightful? SO, here is the tea. Most recipes include cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and vanilla and not actual pumpkin. However, it consists of all spices we love. Why is Pumpkin Spice called Pumkin Spice if Pumpkin does not exist in the flavor. But hey, if they want to call the flavor pumpkin spice, by all means go for it. According to Chicagoist online, “The divergence probably came when spice companies like McCormick started bundling common spices used in pumpkin pie as “pumpkin pie spice” in the 1950s and then simply as “pumpkin spice” in the 1960s for people too lazy to measure out their own “Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Allspice, And Sulfiting Agents.”

Well, there you have it folks. Next time you guys go to starbucks, or any coffee try a Pumpkin Spice Frappucino. It is so bomb and will change your life for the better. Happy Autumn!
