Group Work: work done by a group of people in collaboration.

College is filled with group work such as assignments, projects, etc. Most of the time when you get into your junior and senior year group projects can take up over 50% of your class grade. Working with people in general can be a bit strenuous, but working with people when your grade depends on their work and yours then becomes mind-boggling. You just have to suck it up and roll with the punches.

This is my last semester of college, and personally I am in a group of five to six individuals in all my classes except one. It can be really hard when trying to get all of our schedules on one accord so we can meet but things happen and sometimes it takes you having to do some work alone just to keep you all afloat. Now, sometimes you get some individuals who really just aren’t as time conscious as you or maybe they just don’t care. That’s neither here nor there, but that is when you have to put your foot down and help them remember that this is not only their grade, but it is also yours. A lot of time that’s all some people need, but then again sometimes you just have to fail them on the peer evaluation.

We have to remember that as young adults that working with groups and individuals in college is only the beginning. Once we graduate with our lovely degrees and start in our career or new journey we will most likely be working with others. We just need to learn to adjust and work well with others because if not then that will probably be our own downfall.

Always try and keep a good attitude despite the situation. Just keep your eyes on the prize (graduation) and continue to tell yourself “It will all be over before you know it”.
