Recently the subject of how guys dressed has been brought up in many different conversations with friends and acquaintances because I’ve been told and judged for crushing on guys that look “homeless.” I’m also starting to feel like the government is listening to what we are saying because I started seeing this meme around the same time of these conversations(that I cannot do the life of me find!) that said something along the line that men that dress like this:

Is not “boyfriend material”. Also, that there are most likely inadequate, not as intelligent, and probably more broke than a guy that dresses like this: Empty statements like these make me so upset because society always gets so preachy about not judging people appearances, but still does it and make generalizations about everyone in these categories.

Sis, let me tell you, I have had experience with guys that dress these ways and it is not true. Just because a man dresses up in a four-piece suit every day does not mean he’s better than the guy who puts on the distressed jeans and the bleached t-shirt. Memes like the one I mentioned previously, just continuously try to brainwash us to just going about the physical when looking for a mate. Clothes do not make the man at all. The guy in the nicely fitted suit can be a serial womanizer, and the guy dressed like skater could be the sweetest boyfriend you ever had. The clothes you or a potential future mate wear should be an expression of your/their personality, not what kind of person they must be.

P.S. Kanye is filthy rich and he dresses like a “homeless” man, just saying.
