Campus Cutie Courtney Cunningham-Reid

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

Meet Courtney! She’s a funny, sweet, vivacious girl and we were so happy to have gotten an interview with this curly haired beauty as one of this week’s Campus Cuties!

Name: Courtney Cunningham-Reid

Age: 19

Classification: Sophomore

Major: Middle-Grades Education

Relationship Status: Taken

Zodiac Sign: Cancer

HC: Hey Courtney! So, what made you decide to come to VSU?

Courtney: The beautiful front lawn!

HC: What are you involved in on campus?

Courtney: I’m the Historian and Social Action Committee Chair of the Black Student League and The Distinguished Women of Excellence.

HC: What do you plan to do with your major?

Courtney: With my middle-grades education degree, I plan on teaching Language Arts until the completion of my master’s degree in school counseling.

HC: If you could pick a color to describe yourself what would it be?

Courtney: Green, because I love fresh beginnings. Anytime I am frustrated or not satisfied with school, I always try to think positively and view things in a new, fresh perspective.

HC: If you were to describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?

Courtney: Tenacious, profound and innovative.

HC: What’s something that you admire about yourself?

Courtney: I admire that I am unapologetically unique.

HC: What’s something that you can’t leave your house without?

Courtney: My BIG hair! [Laughs]

HC: What’s the first thing you notice about a guy?

Courtney: His posture! If a guy is walking with his chest pointed outward and his head up, it appears to me that he takes the world head on. I like a guy that displays confidence in his strides and walks with a purpose.

HC: What are some turn offs?

Courtney: I dislike a guy that is “on-the-surface” or has no depth. I value intellectual conversations and it is extremely hard to keep my attention with small talk.

HC: What is your ideal date/dream date?

Courtney: An ideal date is one that is very simple and requires a great amount of creativity and thinking. Sips N’ Strokes or a Jazz club would be lovely.

HC: Nice! Who’s your current celebrity crush?

Courtney: Common

HC: So, what’s your favorite movie?

Courtney: The Best Man Holiday

HC: What have you learned from being at this university so far?

Courtney: I’ve learned that fear will hinder you from being the best version of yourself! Sometimes, you have to push yourself a little more and take large leaps of faith to get to where you want to be.

As you can see, Courtney is an amazing student who represents VSU wonderfully! Follow her on Instagram @___cojane (that’s 3 underscores!) and if you see her around, please say hi!

HCXO!
