HC: Hey Brianna! How did you choose VSU?
BH: In Tallahassee, there are two major universities that I have been exposed to all of my life. I wasn’t interested in going to FAMU or FSU because I wanted to go off for college, but not too far. When I heard about VSU, I immediately came to visit and instantly fell in love with the campus and the friendly people.
HC: Well, I see that you’re a senior and your time at VSU is drawing to a close! What are adventures are you off to next?
BH: After graduation, I plan to use my summer wisely by traveling to states I’ve never seen. In the fall, I will attend the University of South Florida for their post-baccalaureate pre-med program and begin preparing for the MCAT.
HC: Wow! It sounds like you have some fun and laborous months ahead of you. Is traveling something you really enjoy? What are some of your favorite things to do, when you’re not studying? [laughs]
BH: I absolutely love to read. Reading is like an escape from reality and I can use my own imagination to inerpret what I’m reading. I also have a strong passion for traveling. My favorite place to go is Chicago, which is a second home for me. Swimming and spending time with my family and friends are also some things that I love to do.
HC: It sounds to me like you really enjoy some of the simpler things in life others can take for granted. Is there any particular topic you are truly passionate about?
BH: I am passionate about Christ. He is the reason I am here and He continues to bless me. He has also been a listening ear and a helping hand through my college journey. I am passionate about traveling. I don’t like to stay in one place because I am eager to learn about the different cultures that are in different places. I am passionate about helping others and making their lives better. Lastly, I am passionate about natural hair.
HC: You keep blowing me away with your excitement and love for the world around you in this interview. Let me leave the personal questions behind and try some fun ones! As this week’s Campus Cutie, who is your favorite power couple?
BH: I like Steph and Ayesha Curry. They’re both very fun people, they support each other, and they aren’t showy.
HC: What is your favorite question to ask on a date in order to get to know them better?
BH: I like to ask about family involvement. Usually whe a guy is involved with his sibling or other family members, they have interesting stories that come along.
HC: What is your idea of a “perfect” date?
BH: My idea of a perfect date is something original. I’m pretty frugal, so I don’t believe in going to fancy restaurants all of the time. I like creativity and I love surprises.
HC: And to wrap up this interview, leave us with two things: your best relationship advice and your favorite pick up line!
BH: Keep your business between you and your significant other. Everyone isn’t rooting for you nor do they have your best interests at heart. I also love the saying “communication is key.” My favorite pick up line would be, “I’m not a photographer, but I can picture me and you together!”
