7 Love Lessons From Celeb Couples

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.
In this day and age, we find ourselves more interested in celebrities’ personal lives than we are their craft and though we don’t know exactly what goes on behind closed doors, we feel like we have a pretty good idea. So, while we’re stalking them, we might as well learn from them! Here are 7 love lessons from some our favorite celebrity couples.

Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian
Lesson: All you need is love
Kourtney and Scott have no problem declaring their never ending love for each other, but they also make it known that marriage is not a priority. They love their little family and don’t need license to solidify it. As the saying goes, “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.”

Beyonce and Jay-Z
Lesson: Maintain your mystery
One of the reasons we love Queen Bey and Hov is because every now and then they allow us an intimate glimpse of their life without unveiling it all. We know exactly why we want a relationship like them: because we know nothing about it.

Chris Brown and Rihanna
Lesson: Not everyone deserves a second chance
…or a third, or a fourth. Rihanna battled what every girl has or will struggle with at some point: your head versus your heart. It’s hard when you love him, but recognize when he’s not good for you. Sometimes there’s a reason it didn’t work out the first time.

Taylor Swift and all her exes
Lesson: If at first you don’t succeed…
So he wasn’t the one,” and neither were the four before him. Taylor taught us that there’s always more fish in the sea and that writing songs is not only great therapy, but could lead to a possible jackpot.

Carmelo and La La Anthony
Lesson: You can have it all
Yes ladies. It’s possible to have both the family and the career! La La balances promoting her New York Times Best Seller, running her own clothing and makeup line, filming movies, and supporting her boo on and off the court. However, none of that stops her from doing her most important job: being a mom first.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher
Lesson: Friends first
Since 1998, we knew Michael and Jackie belonged together! Mila and Ashton really are a Hollywood love story come true. It’s funny because they couldn’t stand working together while filming That 70’s Show, and when it wrapped, they were both in committed relationships. After Ashton’s divorce and Mila’s split from her then fiancé, she reached out to him and fate took its course. They’re now engaged and with a baby on the way!

Naya River and Big Sean
Lesson: Take it slow
Not even 6 months after they began dating, Big Sean popped the question to Naya. But recently rumors started circulating that the Glee actress was too controlling and jealous for the rapper’s taste. He’s since stated the rumors were false and he wishes nothing but the best for Naya and hopes they can work through their issues. It’s fun when it’s fresh, but sometimes love takes us hostage and we get ahead of ourselves. Moral of the story: don’t rush a good thing.
