Since I’ve been feeling a little nostalgic lately, here is a glimpse of my time at Universal Studies in 2011. These are some of the characters that I’ve grown up loving and worth seeing again in the near future!
“D’OH” – Homer Simpson
Growing up, I LOVED the Simpsons. I’m sad to say, that the Simpsons will be ending the series within the next month or so. On the bright side, in 2015, the Simpsons advanced itself to the point of you being able to walk through the hometown of Springfield! You can visit some restaurants such as the Krusty Burger and Luigis Pizza. You can also head to Moe’s Tavern and Duff’s Brewery to get yourself a drink! Oh, and let’s not forget the traditional pink frosted, sprinkled donut that you can now buy at Lard Lad Donuts!
“From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere” – Dr. Seuss
I’m sure many of you have heard this quote growing up, I know I have! I can honestly say that Dr. Seuss is one of my top 5 favorite characters. In this area you will be able to take a journey through the warped land, as well as meeting extra characters like the Grinch. If anyone wanted to know, I was proposed to by Dr. Seuss himself! Unfortunately, the wedding was prolonged too long and I am happily taken by someone else!
“My Spider Sense is Tingling” – Spiderman
Of course, you can’t go to Universal without meeting some of the greatest Marvel characters! Spiderman was the one I got the chance to meet! During my time there, I got to go on the spider man ride and after also got to witness some spider kicking butt!
“Don’t let the Muggles get you down” – Ron Weasly
The official opening date of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was June 18th, 2010. I happened to be at Universal in 2009 as well, where I saw the production happening. A lot has expanded within this area to the point that I will need to come back! This is a place where you can actually feel like a wizard by being able to try out a wand, getting fitted in your own Hogwarts robe at Madam Malkins, drink some Butter beer, attempt to get to platform 9 ¾ and of course hop aboard the Hogwarts Express!
“Scooby old buddy…old pal…old friend” – Shaggy
It’s not a typical day at Universal if you don’t see the Mystery Machine driving around. Although there is no main attraction geared towards Scooby and the Gang, at least you know they are strolling around trying to solve a mystery!
