How did you get involved with HC?
My childhood best friend and my maid-of-honor is the Editor in Chief at the UW-Madison chapter. She has always included me in her HC events and has encouraged me throughout the years to look into beginning a local chapter at UWM. Once Tori, the EIC at UWM, expressed to me that she was willing to tag team the launch of a local chapter, everything fell into place
What’s your favorite thing about HC?
I love that this platform gives college students the creative freedom to write about whatever they want. That is so unique. Most students get their writing experience through their classes, so if a student wants to give writing/social media a try, they would otherwise have to try to begin their own blog. I see HC as a community blog. We are all contributing to one brand and one blog together, which is why HC is such a great thing to be a part of!
You graduate college soon, how does it feel to be almost done with college?
OHHHH sweet, sweet freedom is just around the corner! I am so excited to enter into the real world and to not feel so weighed down by school work and other various obligations involving my education.
What advice would you give to the incoming college freshmen?
This may be cliché, but you have to get involved. There are so many great opportunities on the UWM campus that you would be silly to pass up. I switched my major during my sophomore year and I was slow to get involved. That is probably my biggest regret. Through your participation in various organizations and clubs, you are really just helping yourself by beefing up your resume. Your future self will thank you!
How would you sum up your college career in one sentence?
A blur of laughs, tears, love, friendship, highs, lows, and everything in between.
