14 ways to get creative with Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWM chapter.

Whether you have a significant other or not, I believe Valentine’s Day should be celebrated by all! When else do you get to celebrate a day for love? Even if you are not currently in love, appreciate all the love that is surrounded by you. It can be your parent’s, friend’s or even your dog’s love! But regardless, Valentine’s day should be a day of fun and here’s how you can get creative with it.

  1. Do a lunch date in between classes at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant.
  2. If there’s snow on the ground, go sledding!
  3. Get your man this HILARIOUS gift; guarantee he’ll love it.
  4. Call your mom.
  5. Grab coffee with your girls.
  6. Watch Rom-com’s until you laugh at how cheesy you’re being.
  7. Bake some cookies (or favorite dessert) for your significant other!
  8. Host a popcorn and wine night. Taste test a bunch of different popcorn flavors while you watch movies.
  9. Create new affirmations for your love life!
  10. Donate blood!
  11. Send a ‘secret admirer’ gift to your bestie
  12. Sign up for an online dating profile
  13. Go on a V-day bar crawl
  14. Make a V-day playlist
