Why Vermont Should Be on Your Travel List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWindsor chapter.

Hey everyone! With nicer weather upon us it has me thinking about travel.  One of my favourite spots to travel is Vermont, U.S.A. Here are my top 5 reasons why Vermont should be on your list of places to travel.

5. Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory

Ben and Jerry’s originated in Vermont, which means the original factory is located there, as well.  You can spend the day there and see how the ice cream is made, look at their history, and best of all, taste the ice cream!  If you are a fan of ice cream, frozen yogurt, or sorbet Ben and Jerry’s has something for everyone.

4. Quechee Gorge

Quechee Gorge is a beautiful place to visit. As shown in the picture above, you can walk down to the water from the bridge.  The walk is about 1 mile, but definitely worth it. You can go in the water when you get to the bottom, and the view is something a picture can’t capture.  If you visit Vermont make sure to stop here.

3. Beast Mountain Coaster

This entire coaster is the length of a ski hill.  You ride up on a track, and you can control the speed on the way down. You zip through the hills and trees of a ski resort in your cart. Not only is this coaster thrilling, but you will want to ride it over and over again. It’s not only fun , but it also has amazing views.

2. University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm.

If you love horses, this is the place for you. Not only do you get to see horses of all ages, but you also get to interact with the horses. The farm is run by the University,  so you often see the horses getting trained by students any time you visit. You might even get some kisses while you’re there.

1.The Green Mountains and Views

Either by gondola, ski lift, mountain bike, or your own two legs, I recommend getting to the top of a mountain to see a view of Vermont with your own two eyest.  The view will take your breath away and will be something you never forget. Whether you look out on the mountains in the summer to see the green, autumn to see the beautiful red, yellow, and orange, or winter to see the crisp white snow, the view will be unforgettable!

I hope you get a chance to visit Vermont one day! Thanks for reading!
