The Stages of a Party (Told From a Party)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWindsor chapter.

Stage 1: Arrival

Congratulations, you’re the first to arrive. Time to meet the host and awkwardly sit down with your bottle of Girls Night Out. Cheers!

Stage 2: Trickling In

People are starting to come in. Hey girl! Omg we totally need to hangout soon. Hello random stranger, please don’t hate me if I don’t remember your name. Cheers x2!

Stage 3: Time For Beer Pong

Okay, so what rules are we playing with? You want to call plays that can’t possibly be how other people play, yet you can’t out of politeness. No Amanda, were not going to literally fight to the death instead of starting with eye-to-eye.

Step 4: Team Pee

Time to take selfies in the mirror with the squad and talk about the hot gossip and events of the party.

Stage 5: New Crew

Everyone you meet is your new best friend. No exceptions. You can talk about the end of the world and still be ready to add each other on Facebook. This is equivalent to the bathroom at a club.

Stage Dance: Okay

So you’re feeling the song but literally no one else is dancing. Stay completely still. Maybe a little shimmy….and now we’re screaming the lyrics.

Stage 6? 7?: Flip Cup

Olay Olay Olay Olay – this is where you become competitive. Put your game face on and beat the other team. They’re losers even if they’re your new crew.

Stage IDK: Food

This is the part of the night where everyone realizes that pizza needs to happen, and it needs to happen NOW. One brave soul decides to be the ringleader and round up everybody’s pitch money. However, this does not go over too well because everyone is a bit next level and you’ve started dance-screaming again.

Stage Home-Time: Finally

The party is starting to die, and so is your night. The pizza didn’t go over too well so you convince your DD to stop at McDonalds for some late night nugs. Finally you’re home! Who cares about washing your makeup off? It’s straight to bed for you.

Always remember to party safely and never drink and drive!
