When artists announce concert tickets, it can be very stressful–but also a very exciting– moment!  For most artists, tickets for a show that is months away go on sale on a particular day of the week at a certain time. Many of us forget to put a reminder in our calendar to get tickets as soon as they are released because the concert date is over 9 months away. In fact, most of us forget to get tickets until the week of the show, and by then, you are either buying tickets that are being resold at much higher prices or “nosebleed” seats– the highest level seats which do not allow you to get a clear view of the stage. However, there are certain steps that you can take to prevent this from occurring.

Firstly, try to get access to a presale code. This will allow you to see the seating map and secure seats days before they go on sale. The artist usually releases this code to dedicated fans, which means that not everyone gets access. To do this, you have to check the artist’s social media (usually Twitter) along with Ticketmaster for codes and ways that you can receive that code. Usually, this means that you have to put in your email or cellphone number, and wait for a code to be sent as an email or text message, respectively (make sure you check your spam folder if you choose the email option). Once you receive that code, you can purchase tickets for face value and get great seats.

Let’s say you forget to get the tickets during presale; you can also log in to Ticketmaster during the actual time that tickets go on sale. For instance, if they go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 28th, make sure you are logged onto the site by 9:50 so that you can refresh your browser and access the site.his is especially useful for popular artists who can sell out popular venues within seconds! Then, when the site goes live, you can get floor seats or seats in other sections closer to the stage at face value. Most other ticket offices like StubHub resell tickets for hundreds of dollars above face value, which can be a huge waste of money, so try to steer clear of these websites unless you are really desperate for great seats.

Finally, you can also try getting seats via platinum seat options that pop up on Ticketmaster. This guarantees you get great seats with a great view, but you might have to pay an extra hundred dollars for them.Whatever option you opt for, always remember that it is ultimately better to go to the concert and physically be there, even if you get nosebleed seats or have to pay a huge amount of money. It is worth spending that money or securing those seats to see an artist who you listen to frequently and love!
