Evidence also exists in religious texts, in the Bible in Number 23:6-19, the figure Phineas kills both a man and a woman in the temple for marrying outside of racial boundaries, which ends a plague and guarantees priesthood. In Sikh tradition. Guru Gobind Singh ,a central community, stating that ‘whosoever takes food from the slayers of daughters, shall die unabsolved’; despite his prohibition, ‘honour’ killings continue to be a serious issue within modern day India,; despite his prohibition, ‘honour’ killings continue to be a serious issue within modern day India, with Sikh families. Under Roman law, fathers had absolute control over the life and death over all members of their families; males who did not take action against female relatives who were considered to have gone outside of proper sexual boundaries were persecuted by their peers. In medieval Albania, the legal code known as the Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini allowed men to the kill women believed to have committed adultery in terms of blood revenge, which still has its effects on Albania today. Many Islamic states also legalize honour killings through policing sexuality morality and eliciting harsh punishments for going outside of sexual boundaries and through vigilante cases.
