With the first few snowfalls of the season already upon us, no one wants to be caught without a great pair of winter boots: this is especially true if you have to do a lot of running around campus! Outside magazine has deemed these six pairs to be the best of the season.

#1 – The North Face Arctic Guide

Not only are these boots breathable, but Primaloft insulation helps to keep your toes nice and toasty! The best part is that the lugs work like winter tires – they get harder as the ground gets colder, so you can avoid embarrassing slip-and-falls!

#2 – Tecnica Sottozero

These boots are a complete package. Warm and lightweight, they have bomber support and great soles, not to mention a removable liner.

#3 – Keen Revel 2

Smart engineering is what helps these boots retain heat! Honeycomb plastic and heat-reflecting material are on the inside, along with a wool liner. In addition to being made to grip ice, they’re a great choice for anyone with wide feet.

#4 – Columbia Bugaboot Original Tall Omni-Heat

This pair is a great choice when temperatures start to plummet. With a waterproof leather exterior, heat-reflective liner, and layers of insulation, you’ll never have to worry about having cold feet. Plus, you can roll down the faux-shearling cuff to make them even more stylish!

#5 – Adidas Slopecruiser

Don’t be fooled by the skater-shoe style of these boots! They have a waterproof membrane, heavy-duty lugs, and breathable insulation.

#6 – Lowa Yukon Ice GTX

This heavy-looking pair is actually super lightweight! The insulated, waterproof leather exterior and wool-poly fleece lining are perfect for keeping out ice and snow. Plus, they have ultra-fine gripping fibers on the soles and are incredibly sturdy.

Don’t get caught without a reliable pair of boots this winter, Lancers!
