When I was an undergrad at the University of Windsor, I never knew what was going on around campus. I would hear about bake sales, free events, and more, only to find out I had missed them. It was frustrating, but in all fairness, I never exactly put myself out there. I wouldn’t walk around by myself, and I wasn’t actively looking for things to do. I found out about almost every event through social media.
Let’s face it: people turn to social media to catch up on the news and stay in the loop. There’s no shame in it, especially if you’re following reliable sources. Well duh! In all seriousness, the University of Windsor’s chapter of Her Campus is so awesome! Many writers cover a variety of topics, including campus-specific, city-specific, and even county-wide events. Not to mention, the personal antidote articles are great, too.
Lancer Rec
If you’re an avid gym-goer or want to know what’s happening south of College Avenue, then Lancer Rec has you covered! Their Instagram posts workshops, fitness class schedules, and anything else you may need. To check out yoga or HYROX, browse their feed!

Depending on your department and major, this may look a little different. Staying up to date on department-specific events is so important. Some departments even have major-specific clubs you can join to meet like-minded individuals.

Everybody needs help sometimes, and SOS is there to provide it. SOS is a tutoring service available to all students. With different packages and custom tutoring, it’s a resource almost anyone can use.Â

Do you have any hobbies or interests? Whether you’re part of the club or not, follow them anyway! Many campus clubs host events that are open to all students. It’s a great way to dip your toes into campus life.
