make it potluck-style:
not only will this save you a ton of money, but everyone can bring their favorite dish, which makes the dinner even more personal and fun.

keep it casual:
you don’t have to send out elaborate invitations in the mail. Just send out a text, and then set up a group message for everyone who will be able to make it. That way you can discuss what everyone is bringing to make sure no one brings the same thing. Same goes for the event; it doesn’t have to be super fancy, just focus on your friends.
be grateful:
make it like a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, and go around the room so everyone can say what they’re thankful.

go untraditonal:
we all love Thanksgiving food, but a lot of us also like breakfast food… so why not put a twist on a traditional Thanksgiving by making it a brunch? Or brinner?
Christmas music!!:
what better time to play Christmas music than at the launching point of the Christmas holiday?! Before the event, ask guests in the group message what their favorite Christmas song is. Then create an awesome Christmas playlist that everyone can enjoy!
