How To Have The Perfect Spring Break In The Comfort Of Your Own Home

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWG chapter.

Spring Break is right around the corner which is much needed after all the homework, quizzes and tests we have endured this semester. If you watch TV, you’ll know of those big stereotypical rumors that college students go on these big trips to a beach to party and have fun. Well, I hate to break it to you but not all college life is like that (at least to most people, like me). If you’re in the same boat and do not have anything to do for Spring Break, here are some things that you can do in the comfort of your own home or hometown.

Have a Spa Day

College is nothing but quick showers and throwing something on to get to class. Sometimes, with all of that stress, we forget that our skin needs some much need TLC. While you’re at home, grab your face masks, body scrubs, bath bombs, nail polish and have the ultimate spa day. If you want to take it up a notch, invite your friends over and do each other’s nails.

Bake Some Treats

If you cook on campus like I do, sometimes you don’t have enough money to buy some baked goods. However when you get home for the break, you can sure add them to your parents’ shopping cart (if ya know what I’m saying.) If you like to bake, you can make things like cupcakes, muffins, cookies, etc. Whatever you like or haven’t eaten in a while. You better make enough because you best believe your family will come down to eat them all up once you’re done baking them.

Watch Movies All Day

Well, why not? You don’t have to worry about going to that 11am class. Just stay in bed and watch your favorite movies.

Exercise

Again, with all that work that college professors give us sometimes refrains us from getting the exercise we need. So, while you have some free time this Spring Break, why not go outside and workout? You can do some simple squats or lunges (provided by tons of videos on YouTube) or go jogging around your neighborhood. If you plan to stay on campus, take the time to use the free gym service.

Sleep

When school is in session, sleep is overrated. This Spring Break, make sure to catch up on your sleep. Hell, sleep in everyday if you want to. You do you, girl!

Hang Out With Your Old Hometown Friends

If you want to get out of the house for a bit, go out with your friends from high school or around your area. Check out the new places that opened up in town or go somewhere simple like bowling or skating.

Hang Out With Your Siblings

You got to admit that you may have missed your siblings. Go do something with them like playing a game of catch outside or having a conversation with them about school.

Do Some School Work

Some professors will assign work over the break. Don’t wait until the very last minute to do them and just get them over with during the break. If you aren’t assigned any work, go ahead and get ahead on your assignments so you can stay on top and not fall behind when school starts back up.

There you have it. Some things you can do during Spring Break if you don’t have anything planned. I hope you all have a great Spring Break and be safe!
