Eat, Pray, Love While Walking in Your Story With God

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWG chapter.

Eat Pray Love is a widely known book about giving up everything and finding one’s self in a long journey in which they do exactly what the title implies; eat, pray and gain the love of their life. While

In this story, one would still give everything up by becoming a living sacrifice in gratitude of the one who gave his own life for them, Jesus. Also, one would search for themselves in a journey pursuing God instead of conforming to the world they would be transformed by the renewing of their minds and learning of the infinite intricate wisdom of the Lord Almighty. They would also find themselves in the ultimate love story of their lives by living to serve and glorify the most high king,The Lion of Judah, the Lamb that was slain and the one who conquers all.

Here is how you can gain some perspective on this beautiful mysterious love story with my very own Christian version of Eat Pray Love.

EAT: “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life.” John 6:27;35

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life.Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

Eat the bread of life and be fed from the word of God which will nourish you and discipline you for your own good. Don’t worship God’s creation, worship God for He is the only food we need. He fills the void in our lives that nothing else can!

PRAY: “The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” Proverbs 15:29

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”1 John 5:14-15

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16.

Pray to God for your enemies, troubles, praises, answers and more. Thank him for his peacefulness, his mercy, his glory, his patience, his kindness, his overwhelming and never ending love..etc. He always hears you and will bless you beyond your wildest dreams. “Knock and the door shall open. Ask and you shall receive.” Matthew 7:7

LOVE: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”1 peter 4:8

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:18-19

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:8-9

Love your enemies and your neighbors as yourself. Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and body for He is the most high king and creator of the universe. He loved us enough that He gave His son to die for us, who rebelled, so that whoever believes in him can have eternal life. His love will shine when all else fades; it never fails, it never gives up and it never runs out. His love is completely unconditional and everlasting. He loves us so much more than we can fathom. It’s literally mind blowing. He will never leave or forsake us!

"There's no need to be perfect to inspire others. Instead, let others be inspired by how you deal with your imperfections."  In other words, AHHH!! Life's a mess, but you learn to see the beauty in every little detail. I don't strive to be perfect, I strive to be what I can, which is a not so perfect, caring, compassionate lover of  this world, with a little bit of diva on the side. I am a Mass Communications major at the University of West Georgia. I enjoy writing about my passions, what interests me, what interests other people, and sharing it with the world. I'm a huge feeler and I've always loved to express myself with my words. I think it's amazing how life can be so confusing and ugly while also being so randomly beautiful and inspiring all at the same time!
