Challenges for the Better

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWG chapter.

Over the years people have created unique ways to compete with each other. If you are on social media, then you are probably aware of the several challenges that are trending on your timeline that people come up with.

These challenges can range from giving a false perspective known as the Bow Wow challenge, to extremely harmful like the tide pod challenge. Not all challenges have to be dangerous or deceiving to have healthy competition. Seeing these ridiculous challenges made me think of a way to make a more enjoyable and inclusive challenge.

I decided that my friend and I should do a summer body challenge. The competition I created is similar to the television show “The Biggest Loser” where we will compete to see who loses the most weight by the summer time. The person who losses the least amount of weight will have to treat the winner to a prize of their choice. This challenge will motivate us mentally and physically to push pass our limits in a healthy way.

To whoever reads this article, I challenge you to engage in a competition with your family or your friends that will inspire you to do better in life. You can create a budget challenge to see who can save the most money over a period time or it can be the biggest loser challenge. Whatever you and your partner agree to make sure that it is safe and you all can benefit from the effects.

My name is Kennedy Austin, I am a speech-language pathology major. In my spare time, I like to hangout with friends and family. I adore animals but mostly puppies. I watch television as much as I can.
