It’s December, which means… Christmas is almost here!!! I love the Christmas season because there are so many festive things to do during this time of year. Decorating the Christmas tree, going ice skating, and watching Christmas movies!!! If you need some ideas on some fun Christmas movies to watch this year, then you clicked on the right article, because here are 7 Christmas Movies to Watch this December (plus 3 bonus movie ideas!).

  1. Elf: because… Santa’s coming! I know him! I know him!

  2. The Santa Claus movies (that’s 1,2, and 3!): not to mention the opportunity to watch Scott Calvin’s son (aka, Santa Claus), Charlie, grow from an adorable little boy in the first movie, to a serious cutie in the third movie!)

  3. The Polar Express: it’s the perfect childhood classic!

  4. A Christmas Story: literally all I remember from this movie is the bb guns and the boy getting his tongue stuck on the poll… maybe that’s a sign I need to watch this movie again lol.

  5. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas: need I say more?

  6. Yes Virginia: you know those super cute “Santa Mail” posts in Macys stores during the Christmas season? Watch Virginia write a letter and put it in a mailbox identical to the Macy’s mailbox in Yes Virginia!

  7. Christmas With the Kranks: a fun, festive movie for the whole family!

P.S. The majority, if not all, of these movies will be showing on Freeform sometime throughout the month of December! Check out their schedule here!

And as a bonus, here are some new movies coming (or already in) to theaters this holiday season.

  • Wonder: a movie about a boy with a face deformity and the obstacles he and his family face, you’ll be crying in no time.
  • The Star: talking animals and the Christmas Story? Why not!
  • Star Wars: The Last Jedi (which is allegedly, the longest Star Wars Movie)
