This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWF chapter.

Throughout college, everyone finds themselves looking for versatile outfits. When buying clothes, do you ever think “Hmm will I ever wear this again?” Do you struggle to find a professional outfit for UWF’s annual Part-Time Job Fair? To save you time and stress, we’ve broken down some tips and tricks for switching from party to professional.

Tip #1: Accessories make a huge difference to any style

Adding some simple, elegant pieces, such as a bracelet, to any outfit can help tie an entire outfit together. Longer necklaces can make your outfit appear more scandalous and revealing because it draws the eye to the middle of the body.

A blazer or cardigan can be used for covering up a revealing back or even unwanted straps to give a professional vibe to any outfit. When adding a blazer or cardigan to a professional outfit, you should always stick to solid colors to avoid clashing prints.

Tip #3: Always make sure your bottoms are appropriate

When checking to make sure bottoms are appropriate, always rely on the thumb rule. The thumb rule is when you stand with your arms at your side with fingers pointed downward. If your bottoms do not reach the tip of your thumb, try substituting pants instead. Pants with prints go great with solid colors and can transform your style in seconds.

Tip#4: Hairstyles can add a more chic look

When putting together an outfit, the main factor should be your hair. Hair can make or break any outfit. To avoid ruining an outfit or looking unprofessional, add a slicked back bun or even a chic high ponytail, if you decide to leave your hair down, this will work as well but make sure your hair is brushed well and try adding a hair accessory or two.

Tip#5: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

A nice transition from party to professional is to add a heel. Avoid stilettos when entering a work environment, these can be not only be distracting but also give a sexy vibe that would be very uncomfortable in a professional setting. Not a heel person? Consider some cute solid color flats or even a nice sandal would pair nice with the right outfit. Never wear flip flops to a business environment. Sandals are way too casual.

Tip#6: Business boobs are important

When dressing for a professional setting, you must avoid wearing low cut tops or even see through mesh, although they are in style, for the office not so much. If your shirt happens to be mesh or have cleavage, cover it up. You can wear a tank top underneath, a better bra or even a blazer with accessories.

Whether it’s for a meeting, job interview or any other professional setting, the most important goal is to wear every outfit with confidence. When adding confidence to any outfit as well as applying these simple tips and tricks you are guaranteed to rock any event.
