7 Things To Do On Halloween That Aren’t Going to a Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWF chapter.

Halloween parties seem like a must during this time of year. But, are they really? If you don’t like parties, it might seem like there’s nothing for you do to, even if Halloween is your favorite time of year! There’s no need to either make yourself uncomfortable at a party or be bored and do nothing. There’s plenty of things to do that don’t involve parties.

1. Haunted House and Trolley Tours in Pensacola

UWF’s Historic Trust is hosting its twenty seventh annual haunted house walking and trolley tours. The tours will be on Oct. 21, 27, and 28, and there are three different haunted walking tours to choose from and one spooky trolley tour.

2. Tour of the Old Sacred Heart Hospital on 12th Avenue

You can tour the old Sacred Heart Hospital on Oct. 20, 21, 27, 28, 29, and 31. Tickets are $5 for 12 and under and $20 for 13 and up.

3. Halloween Horror Nights

If you don’t mind traveling to Orlando and you really enjoy being scared, HHN is an event you should go to. This year it starts on Sept. 15 and continues for 34 select nights through Nov. 4. HHN features multiple different themed haunted houses throughout Universal Studios and live entertainment.

4. Visit a local Pumpkin Patch

Maybe going to haunted houses isn’t your thing. Just get a group of your friends together and go to a pumpkin patch. You don’t even have to buy pumpkins. Sometimes the patch just has a hayride you all can ride, or you can take cute pictures of each other in the cornfields!

5. Carve Pumpkins

Whether you just bought the pumpkins from the pumpkin patch or got them from Walmart, you can still carve pumpkins with your friends. It’s a good way to spend time with each other and get a good fall or Halloween decoration that will last for a little while.

6. Go See a Scary Movie

Plenty of scary movies come out in theaters during October. For example, you could go see It or Unfriended. Sure, they might not be the traditional Halloween horror movie, but a horror movie nonetheless.

7. Throw your own Movie Night

None of the movies that are out right now might be what you want to see, so have some friends over and have a scary movie marathon to get in the Halloween spirit. You could even have a few spooky decorations around your place to add to the scary vibe.
