WINTER

Why do people hate winter so much? I always ask myself that question. Winter is just as amazing as spring or autumn. Maybe it’s because of the constant coolness of the weather, the snow that blocks all the roads, the strong wind that always ruins our look. To me, it is the best time of the year. The coolness of the weather as I stay huddled in my bed, the beautiful snow that fills up the roads, and the chilling wind that hits my face as I walk. It relaxes me, it calms me down. I feel like the time has stilled making the environment so quiet and timid. Just walking in the cold winters helps me gather my thoughts and I can feel the stress and tension seeping away. The best thing about winters is waking up to see snow through the window but staying just bundled up in bed sheets all day, wearing sweats and drinking hot coffee. That unknowingly puts a smile on my face while letting out a sigh of content. Just the idea of warming up, curled up on my couch with a book on a winter day makes me giddy inside.

White, fluffy and crispy snow that makes any child gleam up with joy. Making snowmen, creating snow angels, forming those perfectly round snow balls just to throw at each other marks the start of actual winter. The way snow falls on trees to make it look like Christmas Eve. Going ice skating; sliding across with the smooth ice on my skates, with beanie and cute woolen gloves and scarves covering my body. The cool breeze hitting me as I glide across the ice rink, that make me chill a little and make my cheeks and nose red like Rudolph. Just when it couldn’t get any better it will start snowing. The snow falling on my face and hair making me look a little like Jack Frost and dancing around while swinging my hands up in the air as if it’s raining.

The winter air makes me cold all over the body, numbs my fingers and toes, makes me shiver. I clatter my teeth causing me to blow warm air in my fingers and then I hold a glass of hot chocolate. That warmth is the best kind of heat ever. When I am sitting in the cold, I feel the heat of the sunrays hit my skin- that puts an automatic smile on my face and I feel everything is right with this world.

No matter how cold it gets, Winter will always be my favorite season. I would rather eat ice cream in winter than drink hot chocolate in the summer!
