Festival season is upon us. And with Coachella right around the corner, everyone is prepping their bomb outfits and makeup for a great event under the sun with some great music. However, besides the glam and the glitter, there are a couple essentials I think everyone should remember when heading out for a long weekend in the heat with your friends making some memories.

1. Sunblock

Definitely do NOT forget your sunblock. Protecting your skin is so important no matter what skin tone you are. My favorite sunblock is the Banana Boat Sport one with SPF 50 for a good amount of protection. It has a strong sunblock smell, but I’ve always found it pleasant. If you don’t want a sunblock with a strong smell, I recommend the Sun Bum sunblock. I love that banana scent. It is a little bit pricier at $15 a bottle, but to each their own.

2. Sunglasses

One should always have a stylish pair of shades on hand. If you don’t you’ll be squinting in the sun for the entire day. Definitely do NOT bring your most expensive pair of glasses with you because sunglasses are one of the most popular things to break or lose. I got these cute shades at Nordstrom Rack for only $3, and they have just enough tint to actually protect your eyes.  Plus, if I lose them I won’t feel so guilty about $3.

3. Dry Shampoo

Since it’s gradually getting warmer, you head is bound to produce more oils as you sweat. A dry shampoo is awesome in getting rid of that greasy hair and giving your hair volume and texture simultaneously. The brand Batiste is a favorite for dry shampoos. They have over five different one’s so definitely pick the one that caters to your needs and nose because they do have different scents.

4. Camera

I can’t tell you how many bloggers, influencers, or Youtubers I follow that are going to Coachella. Cameras will be everywhere, so why not capture your own memories with a camera of your own. I have two cameras. One is small enough and good enough for taking quick pics and videos. The other is for really hi-def pics but also has a recording feature. It’s all up to personal preference as to which size camera you would prefer if you don’t want just your phone.

5. Highlighter

If I had to recommend one glam product that everyone is going to have on, it’d be highlighter. Festival season is the time to really glam it up and go ham on the glitter, so here’s a couple I love. The Colourpop Super Shock highlighters are great if you want something with high-end quality but low price point. The two I have here are the shades Wisp and Butterfly Beach. As you can see, Wisp is well loved.

If you’re willing to splurge on a highlight palette but want color variety for each day of the festival, I love this Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Kissed palette. There’s four colors that can serve as blush, highlight, bronzer, and eyeshadow. They’re also super pigmented, so a little goes a long way.

Whether you’re going to a festival or you’re going on an amazing summer trip, these are definitely some good things to remember to bring. Hopefully your spring and summer are full of awesome and fun plans!
