Why Turkey is the Ultimate Thanksgiving Dish

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

We recently ran an article about serving Ham instead of the far superior Turkey at Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to favor Easter’s traditional dish. Fortunately, we still have some time to right this wrong before dinner time!

The main issue that a previous writer had with turkey was that it usually comes with stuffing and gravy to make it taste better. Contrary to this belief, turkey can be satisfying to eat without extra fixings. It’s the extras that just enhance the flavor. Does anyone even eat ham without a honey glaze?

Turkey leftovers can also be used for a plethora of dishes. It can be used for sandwiches, soup, casserole, and stew. The possiblities are endless!

Not to mention; Turkey is also iconic. The Macy’s day parade doesn’t have a dancing ham on a float! It’s turkey or nothing!
