The Ultimate Christmas Party Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

Thanksgiving is over and it’s finally December, which means CHRISTMAS MUSIC! I love the holidays and listening to Christmas music. Here are some of my favorite songs to get you in the holiday spirit!

“All I Want for Christmas is You”

Mariah Carey’s version is the best and I will listen to this ten times in a row.  It’s always my go-to song when December comes along.  It’s such a fun song to get you dancing!

“Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays”

*NSYNC came out with this song and it is such a bop. It’s a great addition to that Christmas playlist and it’s fun to sing with all of your friends.

“Mistletoe”

This Justin Bieber Christmas song is the perfect one for grabbing your special significant other and enjoy a sweet kiss under the mistletoe. It’s also good for fangirling over J-Biebs and still wishing it was you in his music video.

“Jingle Bell Rock”

This one is a classic and awesome for family holiday events. This song also takes me back to watching Mean Girls when they perform this for the talent show. If you want to learn their dance, there are many tutorials so you can share a good laugh with your friends.

“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”

This Brenda Lee version is ideal for decorating the tree. It’s perfect to get you in the spirit of Christmas.

“Feliz Navidad”

This is such a fun Christmas song and you don’t need to know much Spanish to sing along!  Everyone will get up and dance to this one!

“Shake Up Christmas”

Whenever I hear this song by Train, I was think of when it was featured in a Coca-Cola commercial a few years ago. It is such a fun and light-hearted song to listen to while driving through the snow.

“God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”

My favorite version is the Barenaked Ladies one. It’s different but still so catchy. It gives off such a good vibe to sing along to.

“Baby, It’s Cold Outside”

This is such a fun duet to sing along to with your significant other. Also, it was featured in Elf, which makes it so much better.

“Underneath the Tree”

This Christmas song is a classic to get everyone dancing and singing at your Christmas party. Kelly Clarkson has a great Christmas album and this is one of my favorites from it.

“Where Are You, Christmas?”

This song, sung by little Cindy Lou Who, touches your heart. Although it’s not a super upbeat song, it definitely makes you want to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

“Sleigh Ride”

Debbie Gibson’s version is an amazing song to keep your party going and uplift everyone’s spirits.

“Winter Wonderland/Don’t Worry, Be Happy”

Pentatonix and Tori Kelly did a mashup together, and this a capella song is so much fun to harmonize with your friends. They are all such wonderful singers and you’ll want to listen to this song over and over again.

“Auld Lang Syne”

Although this is more of a New Year’s song, it’s perfect to get you ready for the New Year, which is right around the corner from Christmas.  Mariah Carey’s version is such an upbeat song that you’ll want to dance all night long on New Year’s Eve to this one.
