Meet Her Campus Event’s Director – Morgan Sinda

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

She’s a Retail Merchandising and Management major with a keen eye for fashion, a drive for success, a heart of gold, and a sense of humor that will leave you laughing until your stomach hurts. She’s also the newly appointed Event’s Director of the best org around and has nothing but high hopes for the years to come. Read up on this week’s Campus Celeb – Morgan Sinda!

Name: Morgan Sinda

Major: Retail Merchandising and Management

Year: Junior

Hometown: Muskego, WI

HC Position: Events Director

HC: What made you choose to attend UW-Stout?

MS: Stout had a lot of majors that really fit what I was looking to go into. I always knew that fashion is the area I wanted to study – I just didn’t know what yet. When I chose to pursue Retail Merchandising, I knew this was a perfect fit for me. I also like Stout’s employment rate after graduation; Stout really prepares its student by requiring an internship to graduate as well as working closely with companies to start networking while still in school.

HC: What are some of your favorite things about Stout?

MS: I like the amount of people who are here. It is a small enough school that I see people I know, but large enough at the same time where I get to meet new people every day! It is a place that I am thankful for because I have made some lifelong friends here. I also love the town of Menomonie. It may be small, but there is a lot of character in this town from the shops to the restaurants to the campus itself.

HC: How did you get involved in Her Campus?

MS: Three of my roommates were in Her Campus last year and encouraged me to join this year. It’s a fun way to get involved at Stout!

HC: What kind of things can we expect from Her Campus and the Events Committee this year?

MS: The Events Committee and I have been brainstorming a lot of great ideas for this school year. You can expect some fun activities in the future!

HC: What prompted you to pursue a major in Retail Merchandising and Management?

MS: Like I said earlier, I knew that I was always interested in fashion. I think becoming a fashion buyer is a great fit for me because it allows me to combine my knowledge of fashion with my ability to negotiate; I have always wanted to travel as well and I’m hoping to get a job as a buyer that allows me to do so!

HC: What/who inspires you?

MS: I have a lot of sources of inspiration, I have to say my family overall though. My parents are both successful entrepreneurs and I grew up watching them put in nothing but hard work in their businesses. That is the kind of work ethic that I want and need to succeed. I also really admire my brothers. They are both great wrestlers, and wrestling is not an easy sport. My younger brother especially, because it is cool to watch him grow more and more each time I see him as a wrestler. He has been dedicated since a young age with my older brother is there to coach him. Developing that kind of dedication prepares both of them for their future not just for athletics but for life in general.

HC: It’s clear that you have a stunningly bright future ahead, what are your plans and aspirations for the future?

MS: I love Wisconsin and I loved growing up in this state but I am hoping to expand my horizons and live in different places in the future. I can see myself in Seattle or Chicago, and eventually New York. Who knows, my major really allows me to live wherever my company needs me located!
