Name: Jennifer Beyer
Major: Interior Design
Minor: Photography
Hometown: Luxemburg, WI
Year: Senior
Relationship Status: Recently taken
HC: Describe yourself in three words
JB: Bubbly, spit-fire, positive
HC: You choreograph and are the treasurer of Dance Ensemble. Can you talk about what these roles entail?
JB: “Choreographing takes an hour or two of my time a week,” she says. She says that being treasurer of Dance Ensemble is busy at the beginning of the semester and it will be at the end of the semester also. “There’s kind of a mediocre middle, because we did the fundraiser this year, so I guess this is kind of our ‘middle.'”
HC: You are also involved in a sorority. What’s the name of the sorority?
JB: Delta Zeta
HC: What is your favorite part of being in your sorority?
JB: “All my sisters,” she says, “They’re my girls. I love them. I was actually excited to come back to school this semester.” She says that joining her sorority was the best decision she’s ever made.
HC: Why did you choose to go to Stout?
JB: “I actually went to Eau Claire two years and I hated it because I wasn’t doing anything creative,” she says, “I came here and I actually thought about being a dietetics major and when I went into this room to talk to this guy about it, none of it interested me. So I was like, ‘Hey, can you talk to me about interior design?'” After talking to him about it, she says, “I just got super excited about it, so now I’m in interior design.”
HC: Is there anything about interior design that really makes you excited about it?
JB: I think I eventually want to go into residential design and I like that it’s kind of a puzzle for every person I’d get to meet. They want something and I have to try to figure that out and make their dreams come true. I think that would be fun.
HC: What’s your favorite study spot?
JB: I’m in Applied Arts all the time because right now I’m taking a painting class, which I love. I’ve always wanted to be a painter, so this is super fun. Otherwise, fourth floor library Wednesday nights with my girls. We have study nights. I’m also a photography minor, so just walking around taking pictures is fun.
HC: What do you plan to do after you graduate?
JB: “I’m trying to be here in the present,” she says, but she would like the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, Madison, or New York.
HC: What do you look for in a significant other?
JB: “I’m kind of oblivious, so consistency is a good thing,” she says, “I guess they kind of have to be like, ‘Hey! Here I am! I’ve kind of been interested in you.’ and I’d be like, “Oh my God! Really? When?'” She also says she likes confidence. “If they have no confidence,” she says, “they can kind of just go home. Or work on it and come back later.” She says she also looks for a guy who is nice overall and a giving person.
HC: What’s something about you that most people wouldn’t know?
JB: “I can wiggle my ears,” she says.
