1. So I hear Teen Vogue has contacted you about your blog being considered part of their Fashion Click bloggers! Can you give us a little background info on that?

I took a year off between high school and college last year and decided to move to England.  While studying at Capernwray I applied for a position as a Teen Vogue Fashion Click Blogger.  My readership wasn’t very high at that point so they declined, but recently I received and email saying they’ve been keeping an eye on my blog and I’m back up for consideration! I worked really hard this past year amp-ing up my blog and even bought out the domain, I’m always trying to improve it.

2. What was your reaction when you were contacted by such a famous magazine?

It’s both super exciting and very humbling to know that it’s not just my family who reads my blog.  I was incredibly happy when I heard the news, and fingers crossed I’ll be picked.

3. Are you a fan of Teen Vogue?

I am! I really enjoy their magazine, whenever I receive mine in the mail all my homework gets pushed to the side for an hour or two while I read it. What I love about their magazine is that they’ll mix everyday clothing from Topshop & Zara with pieces from Chanel or other high-end designers. They also have published a great book that I would recommend to any aspiring clothing designer.  It’s called The Teen Vogue Handbook.  It’s filled with great information about the industry.

4. Do you wish to pursue blogging/writing in your future as a career or just a hobby?

To be honest, it’s completely in God’s hands right now.  I love being a fashion blogger because I love fashion.  If I somehow could find a mixture of designing & blogging in my future it would be perfect.  It’s a great outlet for me because I really enjoy writing, but I would be content with almost any job in the fashion industry.

5. Why did you choose to attend UW-Stout?

I never pictured myself attending UW-Stout.  Both of my sisters attended Auburn University in Alabama and I’m a southern belle at heart.  But of course…Typical movie plot twist… There’s a boy.  :) I started dating my boyfriend Cristian back in high school and it really didn’t make sense for me to attend college 1000 miles away.  Financially it made more sense as well.  When I toured the campus I fell in love, it’s a bit small but the Fashion Design Program and job rates after graduation are incredible.   Plus being 3 hours away from him instead of 18 is a big plus.

6. What are you involved in on campus?

I’m apart of Silhouettes Fashion Show Organization (side note: The Fashion Show is on April 30th! Everyone should come and see the incredibly talented designers!) As well as Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority.  I’ve totally fallen in love with Greek Life here on campus, my sisters are the best & they’ve been a great support system throughout my freshman year.

7. What are your plans after graduation?

There’s a company based in California called CAbi that I’ve worked with in the past that I would love to work with again after graduation, but that’s a long way off.  Recently I had the crazy idea of buying back my family’s business Lou’s Bootery which sells children’s shoes and clothing.  Since I’m so early in my college career I’m sure it will change 100 times by graduation.

Speed Round-

Favorite food: A Cheeseburger.  With extra pickles.

Celeb Crush: Matt Bomer – But he’s gay… It’s a crime to all women.

Dream Date: Spending an evening in London with my boyfriend.

Favorite Movie: Father of the Bride.  It’s such a great movie.
