The Lazy Girl Dorm Exercises

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

After a long day of classes and maybe a shift at work, the temptation of laying in your beloved Twin XL gets too real.

Once you’ve tucked yourself into bed, that one friend (who we all have) normally will peer pressure you into lacing up your sneakers and heading down to the gym. As tempting as it is to sprint on a treadmill with an incline of 6, you can suggest to your friend do some exercises right in the comfort your room!

Reach and Tuck Plank

Lying on your stomach facing your partner, position the elbows under the shoulders with the palms flat on the floor and the toes tucked under. Next, raise you torso into a plank position and reach forward with the right hand to touch your partner’s right hand. Do the same with your left, then lower your bodies back down to the floor. Complete 11-14 more reps

Partner Wall Sits

Placing feet flat on the floor, knees at a 90-degree angle, back to the wall, hold this position for a minute. Maybe even place a couple of those heavy-duty math text books for extra weight on top on your thighs.  (Partner needed because after 30 seconds you’ll feel a burn and need some moral support).

Roundhouse Kicks

Especially for toning that booty! This video clip does an excellent job describing this exercise.

Partner Squats

One of my personal favorites, works your thighs, just remember to keep you legs in a 90 degree angle. If you want an extra burn, try lifting your legs to your chest, making a small hoping motion– just don’t forget to keep you legs at 90 degrees!

Leg Throws

Great for your core! While laying on your back, reach behind you, grabbing your partner’s ankle’s, and left your legs. Your partner will then throw your legs back down, creating a resistance. 20 reps is a good number to start with.
