This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

Name:  Brittney Hameister

Major: Engineering Technology-Mechanical Design

Year: Junior

Hometown: Byron, MN

Relationship status: Single

HC: Why did you run for Homecoming royalty?

BH: I ran for Homecoming Queen because I thought it would be a fun and good opportunity to get more involved on campus. Also knowing that I will be proudly supporting the organization I am a part of, NRHH/RHA, on campus.

HC: What would winning mean to you?

BH: It is not all about winning, but about having fun. It is quite an honor to be on the homecoming court, but if I did win it would tell me and others that I did a good job representing NRHH/RHA, the campus and a positive, well-rounded person. So far this week I have had a lot of fun interacting with students on campus through the homecoming events and being an active participant in homecoming overall.

HC: How have you been campaigning to become royalty?

BH: I have been campaigning to become royalty by chalking, letting staff I work with know and also letting residents on my floor know.

HC: What do people say is your best quality?

BH: People say I am dependable. I am always there for people no matter the situation and willing to help in any way. They can depend on me to get a task done on time and a timely manner.

HC: How are you involved in campus? If not, do you want to become more involved?

BH: I am the chair of NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary), the president of SWE (Society of Women Engineers) and a second year Resident Advisor in a freshman residence hall.

HC: Where do you see yourself 5-10 years from now?

BH: I see myself working for an engineering company that specializes with the medical equipment or tools.

HC:  Who is the main influence on your life?

BH: The main influences in my life are my parents because they are always there for me, support me in what I do and also give me good advice to live by.

HC: If you were given a large amount of money, what is the first thing you would spend it on?

BH: The first thing I would do would be to pay off student loans. I know most people would not chose this as their first thing, but I would not want to live in debt my entire life. Secondly, I would chose to donate to a charity of my choice. Finally I would put the rest in savings.

HC: What is your ideal first date experience?

BH: My ideal first date experience would be something casual, like something outdoors; a movie at home or cooking dinner together.

HC: What is an ultimate deal breaker in a relationship?

BH: The two biggest things in a relationship for me would be trust and communication. You need both trust and communication in a relationship because if you cannot communicate well with each other that means you must not trust one another. Like stated everywhere… Communication is KEY!

HC: If you could develop any superpower, what would it be?

BH: I would choose teleporting as my superpower. You could be anywhere in a split second and not worrying about being late.

HC: Favorite place on campus?

BH: My favorite place on campus is anywhere outside. I especially love campus during the fall months. It is so peaceful to sit outside and enjoy the scenery and campus.
