Her Campus UW Stout Loves: Bold Winter Accessories

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

How we dress is influenced by a variety of factors: our likes and interests, current mood, background, the people we interact with and, most of all, the weather.

During the summer, our wardrobes are lightweight and filled with bright colors. As we transition into fall, we keep some semblance of that but start moving into neutrals and warmer wear. By winter time, our outfits consist of multiple layers and dull colors. Unfortunately, this lack of color affects how we feel at that given time. Bright colors remind us of happy, carefree summer days, whereas darker colors remind us of trudging through the snow and below zero temperatures.

Adding brightly colored accessories is a fun and easy way to combat this. Whether it’s a magenta scarf, neon hat or multicolored mittens, just about any bright color can spruce up even the drabbest of outfits. Check below to see some examples of students around campus who are rocking these color pops.
