Networking
Founded 7 years ago by Harvard graduates, Her Campus has become the #1 online publication “for collegiette women, written by collegiette women”. With more than 300+ chapters and over 7000+ members, Her Campus has been a launch pad for member’s careers. Many HC members have been offered jobs or scored internships at places like Glamour, Vogue, Seventeen, and MTV because of the experience they gained from HC. At HC UW-Stout, our team is made up of women (and guys!) from the Professional Communications, Dietetics, Retail, and many more programs.
Resume
If you’re looking for a HUGE and prestigious name to put down on your resume, we’re it. Besides the opportunity to become a published journalist, HC gives you real world experience that your future employers are looking for. We are always looking to take on new writers and experience isn’t necessary. Here at HC, you can also get a hands on experience working in a group setting. Our ad/marketing and events team work hard to help us plan events for the student body.
Voice
Do you care about women’s issues? Campus life? Sports? Fashion? Her Campus gives you a platform to share your interests and thoughts with the world. We encourage our members to write about the things they’re passionate about, but also to push themselves and challenge them to connect with the campus community.
We’re Not Always Serious
Though we may have plenty of deadlines and requirements to meet, we know how to let loose. One of Her Campus’ initiatives is to create friendships with other women and create a home away from home. We might be “co-workers”, but we are also a family. We are all different and we love that about each other. To keep our team strong we have chips n’ salsa dates at Cancun, host team bonding events, and share more than a few laughs.
