4 Hidden Restaurants of La Crosse Area

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Lax chapter.

1. Blue Moon Restaurant

If you’re looking for an at home feel, the Blue Moon Restaurant is a must try! The restaurant is located right off of the river and is excellent for dining during any time of the year.  The Friday night Fish Fry is something to try, and comes along with an unlimited salad bar.  When I visited the restaurant, the service was excellent and they always are featuring a new entrée during the dinner dining hours.

2. Four Sisters Tapas Bar

Looking for a girl’s night? Four Sisters is the place.  An intimate setting, right in downtown La Crosse, the restaurant over look the Mississippi River for a view that is to die for.  Four Sisters offers many different drinks, including their well known homemade vodkas.  I got the chance to try their Raspberry Mojito, and I would never go to Four Sisters without ordering it again.  For food, Four Sisters has many different tapas options, but my favorite is the Mini Ribeye sliders or the Stuffed Portabella Mushroom entrée.

3. Trempealeau Hotel

A mini getaway that is a must! From April to October, the city of Trempleau is a gorgeous riverside town.  The Trempleau Hotel offers a restaurant that includes a variety of foods.  Small and large options were offered lunch hours.  When I took a visit to the restaurant, I ate the Sweet Potato Hash, and Caesar salad.  For dinner, the best choice would be the Walnut Burger.  It’s a vegetarian burger but is satisfying to the stomach, you wont believe it isn’t beef!

4. Maggie’s Restaurant

If you need a little hangover pick me up, or just a filling breakfast to start your day, Maggie’s is the place.  Maggie’s is located in Onalaska, and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.  I have so many favorites on this menu, but if I were to pick, I would choose the Denver Skillet.  With ham, green pepper, onion and melted cheddar cheese, this option will never fail to satisfy.
