10 Reasons Why You Should Go to the Holiday Lip Sync Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Lax chapter.

Her Campus UW Lax and Alpha Phi are teaming up to bring you the Holiday Lip Sync Party 7-9pm Saturday, Dec. 12 in Port O’ Call-Cartwright on campus! This holiday cavalier-like setting is the perfect opportunity to take a break from your studies for a couple hours, get in the holiday spirit, and have fun in the midst of all the stress of finals. Here are 10 reasons why you should go!

1. You have a chance to give back to the community. The Holidays are all about giving. Bring a toy, food, or clothing item to the event to donate to the Salvation Army. The feeling is priceless (much better than studying, wouldn’t you say?).

2. There will be free food. What more do I have to say?

3. There will be a 50/50 raffle. PLUS, the winner takes home a Vera Bradley blanket and Proactive kit courtesy of the Her Campus Finals Survival Kit! It’s an easy way to make some extra cash for gifts this year.

4. There will be lip-syncing…holiday lip-syncing. Get up and perform a Christmas carol duet with a friend, or sit back and enjoy the performances of others! Did I mention there are prizes for this? Can anyone say, “Vera Bradley wrist wallet”?

5. You can play games. Grab a board game to bring back to your table and kick back will some friendly competition.

6.  There will be a photo booth. Take some fun, holiday pictures with your friends in our photo booth. Who gets the Santa hat?

7. It’s a good way to de-stress. It’s only a couple of hours, 2 of 4 hours you would be using to watch Netflix anyway, am I right? Take a break from your paper and enjoy the holidays!

8. It’s one last hoorah with your friends. The semester is almost over. Make the time count with your friends before you say goodbye for a month and a half! The Holiday Lip Sync Party is one way to do that.

9. You will laugh. Laughing is crucial to your sanity during finals. You are going to need a little laugh in your system by the end.

10. It’s one way to get you in the holiday spirit. College students don’t get the homey, holiday feeling this time of year is supposed to bring, because we are too busy with our heads in our books. Take the time to get in the spirit of the Holidays. Because compromising holiday cheer is just unacceptable.
