“In Girl World, Halloween is the one day a year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it.” – Cady Heron, Mean Girls

The time has come to figure out our Halloween costumes for this fall if you haven’t figured them out already. We all know it is a struggle to find a Halloween costume that looks good while also feels good, and is easy but not too basic. There are always Halloween costumes that reflect what has happened in the past year. Remember when everyone and their mother was Eleven from Stranger Things with the frilly pink dress and Eggo waffles? Here is what it’s going to be this year:

Queen Elizabeth II

Rest in peace, Queen Liz. Everyone is going to be you for Halloween! An easy old lady wig, a gorgeous regal gown (or whatever you have in your closet), and a stunning plastic tiara from the dollar store. Some may even decide to turn this into a couples or group costume, turning frat boys into Prince Philip, William, and Harry. If you choose this costume, do Liz justice. Happy Halloween and God Save the Queen!

Harry Styles

Speaking of Harry I know we all love our Harry Styles, and you will definitely see lots of him later this month. Wearing bright colors in the form of boas and fun pantsuits is the key to success when attempting to dress as today’s biggest star. This costume, although basic, is quite a good one. Best of luck to all those planning to be Harry Styles and may the best Harry win! (Not including Prince Harry ;)

Elvis

It is no secret that Austin Butler took the world by storm when he was cast as Elvis Presley in the new movie, Elvis (which made me sob at the end). It is also absolutely no secret that Austin Butler is hot, Elvis Presley was hot, and Austin Butler as Elvis Presley is super-hot. Let’s not forget about Priscilla… dare I say she was the hottest of them all. Elvis was a fantastic movie, seriously cannot get over it, and it would make a phenomenal Halloween costume. For Elvis: sparkly jumpsuit, slick backed hair, and a gorgeous smirky smile. And for Priscilla: the biggest, tallest wig you can find, and a gorgeous outfit inspired by her many gorgeous looks. My favorite Priscilla look was her bejeweled and fur lined Canadian tuxedo, to die for.

Top Gun

Can college boys do Miles Teller justice by growing out their facial hair this month and popping on some aviators and a leather jacket? Only a few more weeks ‘till we find out. We have all seen this coming: the Top Gun mustache will take every college campus by storm come October 25th. As much fun as it is to make fun of the mustache, girls can be Miles Teller in Top Gun too, duh. Find every shade of army green in your closet and look hot this Halloween. Don’t forget the aviators and you’ll be set. If you think your costume is missing something, you can always add a mustache.

Corn

I must admit, The Corn Kid is my obsession. If you don’t believe me, please ask my roommates and they will go into depth about it. If you know a little bit of the song, and you have some version of a corn costume, you’re set. I am secretly excited to see millions of corns running around on Halloweekend. You can make a cute costume – a yellow top and a green mini skirt – or go for the quirky option and wear a full blow corn costume from Amazon. Either way, it’ll be a corn-tastic Halloween since you’ve got the juice! (Please don’t hate me.)

A lot has happened in the past year that will very soon be reflected in an array of Halloween costumes. Nothing is better than a current events Halloween costume. If you are in need of inspiration for this Halloween, look no further. Have fun, stay safe, be scary (or slutty) and Happy Halloween!
