My Life is GrUV: Ride the Yak

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVM chapter.

If you haven’t heard of Yik Yak, the new(ish) app that is sweeping the nation, then you probably live under a rock. Yik Yak is a Twitter-like app, allowing you to post statements anonymously to members of your community. Yik Yak started out, and has continued to be, a college thing. You are even able to check out what other schools are Yakking — Hogwarts, NYU, Jacksonville State — to see where UVM ranks in the humor department. When the Yaks are posted, other Yik Yak users can upvote or downvote them and write anonymous comments. If a Yak gets -5 downvotes, its gone. However, some Yaks deserve snaps on their cleverness, humor, or realness. So here’s the list of the best recent Yaks.

“You’ll never see a wider variety of clothes at UVM than a 70 degree day in October” — 78 upvotes

“Take a block of ramen and plant it in the ground. Remember to water it twice a day with bud light or natural light and a college student will grow” — 46 upvotes

“College is skipping class to study for another class” — 48 upvotes

“I’m not religious until 5 minutes before my exam, in which case Jesus is my #1 bro” — 38 upvotes

“If a bra is an ‘over the shoulder boulder holder,’ is men’s underwear an ‘under the butt nut hut?” — 87 upvotes
