I rarely exist without music playing in the background. If I’m walking to class, I have my headphones on. If I’m studying in my room, I have my speaker blasting. If I’m making dinner, I put Spotify on the TV. My roommate always says, “When there is Mia, there is music.” But if I were to rank my favorite apps on my phone, Spotify would be a close second to Superfan.
Superfan is a social music-tracking app that you can connect to your Spotify account to get your weekly music stats. I look forward to my recap dropping every Friday. It includes my top artists, songs, and albums of the week. It also tracks my minutes listened – I average about 3,000 a week. I’m unsure if I should be proud or embarrassed of that crazy stat… Either way, text me if your weekly minutes compete, because I would love to be music buddies!
The “vibe” is one of my favorite components. It’s similar to a Spotify daylist title. My vibe this past week was “whispering sweet nothings to your imaginary entourage while scrolling through glossy dreams.” The week before was “smoothly serenading a cup of coffee while chasing dreams in flannel.” And you know what? I was doing that all week!
You can also track the concerts you’ve been to, review new music, and follow your friends to see their weekly stats. The concert tracking feature offers quite the upgrade from the list titled “concerts” in my notes app. So, if you are a frequent concert goer I encourage you to get the app and spend some time reminiscing on your favorite shows! The app has so many fun features for music lovers. Shameless plug: follow me @miaclancy.
Every week, I watch the countdown, eagerly awaiting my stats. I can reflect on the week I had based on who I’ve been listening to. Daniel Caesar is almost always in my top five artists, but when Ariana Grande makes it up there, I know I had a week with a little extra girl boss energy! It’s basically a weekly snapshot of my music personality – and I’ve become weirdly invested in seeing what mine will look like next.
