Dan Asam “Tall-Tee Dan”
Creator of Arsenic Apparel
Year- Sophomore
Major- Athletic Training

Dan Asam sits before me at Simpson Dinning Hall; a white corduroy hat rests backwards atop his ahead. He wears a blue polo shirt and black fleece. Both collars popped.

At what age did you start wearing Tall-Tee’s? How did you parents react?
17, and poorly. My dad thought I was wearing a dress, my mom tried to shrink them. She still does, we get in fights about it all the time, it’s a problem.

What is your most embarrassing moment?
“Most embarrassing object; my car, there is body damage to every side, window, glove box all broken… It’s currently snowing into it.”

Best mountain to ski at?
“Sugerbush, cause it’s underground and hyphy.”

Cutest thing you have every done for a girl?
“Not applicable.”

What is your favorite number? Why?
“33, it’s the logo for Arsenic Apparel, my Tall-T company””

How did you come up with the idea of Arsenic Apparel?
“I was procrastinating from doing chemistry homework, just thinking of my favorite number’s and seeing what elements they were. I always liked number 3 and my football number was 33 so I looked up 33 and saw it was arsenic. The letters of the element were AS, which are the first letters of my last name. I thought that was cool and liked the sound of arsenic. I thought arsenic apparel sounded like a good name for a clothing company.”

What is your favorite place you have ever been?
“On top of a cliff overlooking the mountains near my house in Queens Hallow New York, you can see for miles.”

Favorite color and why?
“Green, I always liked green and someone who was close to my family died and their favorite color was green.”

What are your 3 favorite things?
Raspberry (the fruit and flavor), Corduroy (hence the hat) and skiing.
