Unfortunately, finals week can be one of the hardest weeks to focus. Which is why finding the best study spot for you can make all of the difference.
In the spirit of giving, here are some of my favorite study spots in Burlington.
On-Campus
As an English major, I obviously don’t spend a lot of time in Dana Health Sciences Library. But, last semester it totally changed my life. It is cozy, quiet, and the cubby chairs are so comfortable but still perfect for working. It is open from 7:30am to 5pm for all students, but closes at 5pm unless you’re in CNHS or LCOM.
The Davis Center, or the heart of campus, is another great place to study. However, it is often loud and busy. The Chikago Landing is one of my favorite corners to study in. It is pretty quiet, and if you go later in the day it is never crowded.
Finally, another medical school spot, the Given Bistro. I mostly love this study spot because the architecture in the Given Building is so beautiful. There is a lot of natural light and greenery that makes me feel energized.
Off-Campus
If you need to get off-campus, but are still craving an academic environment, check out Fletcher Free Library. It is almost never busy, and there are plenty of places to sit and work. You could also check out a book to help you wind down after a long study day!
Scout Winooski is my favorite coffee shop. It gets pretty busy, but I’m always able to snag a spot. Also downtown Winooski has free parking on Sundays! Their maple lattes are delicious, and the shop itself is so cozy and bright. Not to mention they have ice cream and a pretty sweet selection of baked goods.
Studying doesn’t have to be uncomfortable and boring, but finding the right spot for you is super important.
