Boys are everywhere, and while sometimes they are annoying and complicated, other times they can be very useful and wise. I would like to share with you some words of wisdom from my boyfriend, who at times is incredibly insightful and at other times, questionably clueless. Despite this, below are some messages that all girls should take to heart. In addition, there are some comments that all girls should keep in the back of their mind while trying to land a guy.

“There are things you can’t control. You can’t choose what you look like, you can’t choose who your family is, but you have to make the best of what you’ve got.”
My boyfriend said these one hundred percent true words after I was having a bad body image day. This is one that all girls should keep in mind. There is a lot we can control, and if we work on making the best of those things, then everything gets better. This was one of his better moments of insight.

“Please explain female anatomy to me…I feel like an old Republican man”.

“You’re a keeper because of your personality and your heart. But the boobs don’t hurt”

“I’d say come over but literally everyone here is sick”
This is a general public service announcement in college, but being sick is hard while you’re in school. Going to class with a runny nose is the worst, and missing lectures makes everything more difficult. The notes you’re going to ask your friend for probably won’t be as good or make as much sense as your own. So, if someone is knowingly sick, even if he’s your boy, try to stay away.

And to end on a philosophical note…
“Don’t ever think you are not worth loving”
I think we all have moments of doubt in terms of our personal worth (though maybe this is just me…). Everyone deserves to be loved, and I think this is something that every girl should keep in the back of their head. That boy at the party didn’t come over to talk to you? His loss! If I had a mantra, this would probably be it.
