You’re alarm goes off and you hit snooze—what’s another 10 minutes, right? After hitting snooze a few more times though, you look at the clock and bolt up realizing that you’ve completely overslept! Throwing off your pajamas and jumping into sweats is probably your first instinct, but even when you’re running late you can add simple things to look as though you woke up the first time your alarm went off.

Add a Scarf:
Even if you’re just wearing jeans and a t-shirt, a scarf can create an entire look. Throw on one with a distinct pattern so that it draws attention, creating a focus in your outfit. This is especially a great addition in the fall weather. My favorites are infinity scarves. Don’t have one? Tie the ends of a regular scarf together to get the same effect!

Switch out Uggs for boots: Even though uggs are super easy to throw on (and I know they are super comfortable), just switching out of uggs for a pair of riding boots will make your look so much more sophisticated. While I am one to go for the comfortable, albeit ugly boots in times of snowstorms, a pair of riding boots make for a much more stylish look.

Accessorize your ears: A simple outfit can become fabulous with the right pair of earrings. Throw on a pair of dangles and that one accessory will be granting you compliments all day long. Don’t have pierced ears? You’ll get the same effect with a great statement necklace.

Don a Hat:
Running late and don’t have time to straighten your hair? Well throw on a hat! A hat over a loose braid can be chic and easy and just the thing to hide some bed-head that you didn’t have to time to deal with.

Add a little sparkle: Hats aren’t your thing? A headband will achieve the same goal. While throwing your hair back into a pony tail might be the easiest thing to do, adding a headband with a little bit of sparkle will turn your pony tail from gym workout to class-worthy.
