Romanticizing October

As midterms are coming up, life can feel like a never-ending stream of homework, due dates, and a million things to do.

However, my favorite season is fall, and I want to find time to actually enjoy it and take a breather.

Even though it’s still 70 degrees out, a little chill in the air has me immediately pulling out my autumn playlist and daydreaming out the window.

Songs

  • Any Lana del Rey songs (My favorites are Art Deco, Video Games, Cinnamon Girl, and Brooklyn Baby)
  • Sweater Weather – The Neighborhood
  • Insomniac – Memo boy
  • The Downtown Lights – The Blue Nile
  • Field of Gold – Sting
  • The Evermore album – Taylor Swift (and Red and Folklore)
  • Reflecting Light – Sam Phillips
  • Fade Into You – Mazzy Star (Popular, but for a reason)
  • Affection – Between Friends

Activities

𓇒𓆸 Get a fun drink (for me, a pumpkin chai) and just sit in the Shannon library.

Specifically, the Harry Potter room. You don’t have to do work, you could read a book, color, or draw, it’s up to you!

𓇒𓆸 Find a cozy show to watch in the evenings!

Some of my favorites are Gilmore Girls, Friends, and Only Murders in the Building, for a mystery vibe. Of course, movies are great to watch too, and you can invite your friends over for a cozy night. Some ideas are the Harry Potter series, Twilight, Hocus Pocus, Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Dead Poets Society, and Charlie Brown.

𓇒𓆸 Go to Carter’s Mountain!

In case you somehow haven’t heard of it, it’s a great fall activity. You can go get apple cider, apple cider donuts, pick pumpkins, and watch the sunset on Thursday Nights.

𓇒𓆸 Paint or carve pumpkins!

𓇒𓆸 Okay, this isn’t necessarily an activity, but try to pick out a cute outfit.

I feel so cutesy and fall whenever I have jeans, a sweater, and Ugg boots on!
