The Female Artists You Should Be Listening to This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

1.     Kehlani(Image credit: Google Images)

From the Intro of Kehlani’s album “SweetSexySavage”, she announces herself as a powerful female artists with a message. She says, “I’m afraid you’re under the impression I was made to please you. I was under the impression you understood me better. The truth is I’m a superwoman, and some days I’m an angry woman, and some days I’m a crazy woman.” I’ Her R&B vibe is electric, moody, and bubbly all at once. Her lyrics are savage. This is an album you won’t want to miss.

2.     Bea Miller(Image credit: Google Images)

Bea Miller is well-known for her appearance as a preteen on the X-Factor in 2012, but her recent trio of LP’s demonstrate that she has grown up considerably. Named after colors (blue, red, and yellow) each album has a completely different vibe. Highlights are the bad-ass “like that” on part two: red and the sassy “S.L.U.T” on “part three: yellow”.

3.     Banks(Image credit: Google Images)

Following her second album “The Altar”, released in 2016, Banks recently released a new single “Underdog” that predicts her third album will be stellar. With her trademark breathy beats and catchy chorus, Banks makes a brilliant return with “Underdog”. It’s definitely a single to check out this fall.

4.     Camila Cabello(Image Credit: Google Images)

After leaving Fifth Harmony last year, Camila Cabello has begun an impressive solo career that began with the addictive “No Crying in the Club”. However, her two most recent singles underscore an impressive artistry. “Havana” is a slow and sultry tropical bop and worth checking out before it starts playing on every radio station. “OMG” is a R &B influenced single with a very different vibe, yet it’s just as addictive.
