The Country is Mourning Ruth Bader Ginsburg and It’s Tragic and Beautiful and Powerful

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter.

Since the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was announced Friday night, the internet has been collectively short circuiting as we try to process the loss of a national hero that fought for so many. RBG was a trailblazer, a force of nature, and an inspiration to an uncountable number of people around the world. The country has run to social media to pour out our grief for Ruth and what people are writing is sad and sweet and powerful and inspirational and everything else representative of RBG’s legacy. The common theme: fight in her honor.

“Never underestimate the power of a girl with a book”

Honor her dying wish

A trailblazer

“Ruthie”

“And to help repair tears in her society, to make things a little better through the use of whatever ability she has.”

Keep fighting in her memory

This would be a good tattoo tbh

“Your rest is earned”

Lead others to join you

A tireless defender of all Americans’ rights

The way 2020 has radicalized an entire generation at once…

“Her heart was fierce”

Don’t lose hope
