Blog Love: Fashion Inspiration from the Everyday Fashionistas

Designers often draw inspiration for their collections from the most unlikely places.  As a self-proclaimed fashionista, I have to admit, my thought process with my wardrobe selection is far from being abstract.  In fact, I pull inspiration from the everyday girl who lives by the motto, “Every walkway is a runway”—I’m talking about street-fashion bloggers.  These writers capture their own or others’ personal style in a single photo and upload it to their blogs for the entire the world to see.  The secret to a great sense of style is knowing what works for you and being inspired by what works for others.  So borrow away! Blushing Ambition
Annabel from San Francisco, California describes herself as a “22 year-old student content with spending more money on food than clothes.” Luckily for us, she uploads photos of her daily duds in addition to the mouth-watering photos of In-N-Out burgers.  Her blog shows how to make any piece transition between outfits.  Her black Rachel Comey ankle boots are a staple and she wears them flawlessly with both dresses and pants and from season to season.  This girl will show you how to turn any item into an investment piece.

Scott Schuman is a fashion photographer and blogger who founded the Sartorialist blog to create a “two-way dialogue about the world of fashion and its relationship to daily life.”  Schuman captures street fashion from around the world, giving us insight into the latest fashions from New York City to Tokyo.

Blair, a fashion-merchandiser living in San Francisco, California is the epitome of a fashion-forward working girl.  She pairs high and low-priced pieces together, proving you don’t have to break the bank to achieve a chic sense of style.

Little Tin Soldier
This blogger and I are cut from the same fabric.  Linda, a schoolteacher and freelance designer, writes in her bio, “There are very few things you should save from a fire. First, there are loved ones.  Second, there are clothes.” My thoughts exactly.  With every outfit she designs a graphic image of her look, making her blog irresistibly cute.  Look to Linda to create a look that is entirely affordable (her looks often feature pieces from Target and TJMaxx).

The Locals
Ever since I decided to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, I’ve been hooked on this site.  The Locals features fashionable looks straight from the streets of Copenhagen.  I’m obsessed with the photos from the winter archives.  Somehow the Danes manage to stay well dressed even in the coldest of weather.  Hope I can do the same!
