The Ultimate Thanksgiving Break Binge Guide

Angela Chen Student Contributor, University of Virginia
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UVA chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

Here are some show and movie recommendations to binge this Thanksgiving break. It includes new releases and some of my personal favorites!

Upcoming and New Releases

Stranger Things, Season 5

It’s been a few years since the last season, and we’ve all been in anticipation. El and the rest of the Hawkins crew are dealing with the military and the rifts being opened.

Season 5, the final season, premieres on November 26, 2025. Perfect for post-Thanksgiving meal plans!

    Wicked: For Good

The second part of Wicked: The Musical came out in theaters on November 21st. However, with break coming up, it’s the perfect time to go watch it before coming back to classes.

      IT: Welcome to Derry

Welcome to Derry is the prequel to IT, with Bill Skarsgard returning to his role as Pennywise. If there’s one thing I will NOT be starting, it will be this show. IT was pretty scary for me, and I don’t look forward to seeing Pennywise again, but if you love a scary movie, this might be perfect for you!

        a couple I look forward to rewatching/continuing:

        Lovely Runner (KDrama)

Time-traveling and high-school lovers plotline. Honestly, this one is so cute, but the time-traveling plot can get a bit confusing.

        The Sandman

Based on the DC comics, the show follows the King of Dreams. The cinematography in this show is absolutely to-die-for.

        Nezha & Nezha II

Chinese folklore/mythology of the deity Nezha. Born with a destructive nature, Nezha fights against it.

I really enjoy the animation of this movie!!

If you’re feeling a little bored over break or are looking for something good to watch, I hope these recommendations provide you with something to enjoy during your break!
