7 UVa Trends for Less

Since my first year at UVa, these 7 trends have stood out as the must-haves of any Virginia girl.  Unfortunately, none of these looks are conducive to my “broke college student budget,” so I’ve devised affordable ways to get these looks and still foot the grocery bill.  Here are the top 7 UVa trends – for less!

The Label:
Hunter Rain Boots: $125
The Deal: L.L.Bean Wellies: $59
You Save: $66
I have these L.L.Bean wellies and they’re PERFECT for both rain and snow.  Still dying for that Hunter label? My friend just bought the Hunter Welly Socks ($30) and stuffed them into her solid-colored rain boots.  No one knows there’s not another Hunter label underneath.  It’s our little secret.

The Label: North Face Denali Fleece: $165
The Deal: SnoZu Fleece (found at Ross/Marshall’s/Tj Maxx) about $19.99
You Save: $145.01
My friend bought this jacket purely for “fratting purposes.” Remember how crushed you were when someone accidentally took your North Face (let’s face it, that’s all anyone wears out) at XYZ frat? The price of a Snozu fleece will keep your night stress-free.

The Label: Barbour Jacket: $379

The Deal: L.L.Bean Adirondack Barn Coat: $59.50
You Save: $319.50
This jacket has the same oversize feel as the Barbour and it even has the same plaid detailing inside!

The Label: Michael Kors Oversize Watch: $250
The Deal: Target Merona Boyfriend Style Multifunction Watch: $12.99
You Save: $237.01
It’s large, it’s gold, and it’s less than $20.  What more can you ask for?

The Label:
David Yurman Bracelet: $425
The Deal: Madewell Forget-Me-Knot Cuff: $24
You Save: $401
I love how cuffs look when they’re stacked on the wrist, so these Madewell cuffs are perfectly priced for buying in multiples. Just think: for the price of one David Yurman bracelet, you could get 17 Madewell cuffs!

The Label: Jack Rogers: $98
The Deal: Target Merona Enid Whipstich Flat sandal: $19.99
You Save: $78.01
These look so much like the real thing my friends can’t even tell they’re “Fack Rogers.” These were also extremely easy to break in-something I look for in that go-to summer sandal.

The Label: Frye Harness Boots: $217.95

The Deal: Target Mossimo Katherine Leather Engineer Boots: $49.99
You save: $167.96
A little part of me dies inside when I get a scuff on my boots so I love that these come at an affordable price.  It makes the love scuffs less painful.

Styles and trends are always changing and eventually that piece you thought would never go out of style will become last season’s throwback. The point? Trends come and go; your money shouldn’t. (Pictured items show the “Trend for Less,” not the original. See? You can barely tell!)
