As the weather gets warmer, the days get longer, and the world seems so much brighter than before, I finally know that it is spring!

Spring is a season characterized by hopefulness, peace, and most importantly, the end of my annual seasonal depression.

To help put me into this optimistic springtime mood, I listen to music that expresses those same vibes. Here are some of those albums:

1. Golden Hour – Kacey Musgraves

I would never consider myself a country music fan, but Kacey Musgraves will always be an exception. To me, this album sounds colorful and warm, much like how the season of spring feels to me. This album is best appreciated while sitting outside with your friends, enjoying the newly warm weather of spring.

2. Wasteland, Baby! – Hozier

I honestly believe that Hozier’s music could be appropriate for any season, but this album in particular is perfect for spring.

Wasteland, Baby! is chill, but hopeful, reflecting the feeling of the year finally calming down during the spring season. Life begins to feel more peaceful as we hopefully look forward to the summer.

3. Charm – Clairo

I have been a huge Clairo fan since middle school, and I have loved listening to how her style has evolved over the years. When I listen to her most recent album, Charm, I envision the colorful, pleasant nature of springtime. There is something about the music on this album that makes me want to frolic in a field or climb a tree – perfect for spring!

4. Sunburn – Dominic Fike

One of the best parts about spring is how it officially reminds me that summer (my favorite season) is coming soon.

Sunburn is the quintessential summertime album, which is why I love listening to it in the spring. It instantly puts me in a good mood and makes me excited for the upcoming summer season.

5. Solar Power – Lorde

Though I would not consider this to be my favorite album by Lorde, there is no denying that Solar Power is the perfect springtime album. It’s peaceful, colorful, and explores themes of overcoming sadness as the weather gets warmer.

6. Crying Laughing Loving Lying – Labi Siffre

This album never fails to calm me down whenever I am stressed or overwhelmed. The combination of his relaxing voice and the soft guitar on this album sounds like the transition from winter to spring. I imagine sunny skies and flowers blooming when I listen to these songs.

7. This Old Dog – Mac Demarco

I find myself returning to this album every spring ever since I first discovered it back in middle school. The acoustic guitar throughout this album always relaxes me. For the best listening experience, I would recommend listening to This Old Dog while spending time outside, appreciating the springtime weather.

8. Lust For Life – Lana Del Rey

Just like the title suggests, this album always puts me in a positive mood and makes me appreciate life, which is why I associate it with the spring season. I guarantee this album will make you want to spend time with your friends outside, fully absorbing the hopeful spring weather.

9. Is This It – The Strokes

One of my all-time favorite albums, Is This It, is perfect for listening with your friends while appreciating the spring season. It is upbeat, yet chill, just like spring. It’s the perfect album for hosting an exciting party with your friends or spending a relaxing evening at home.

10. Reading, Writing and Arithmetic – The Sundays

There has never been a time when listening to this album did not improve my mood. It is energetic and optimistic, just like how I feel during the springtime. I recommend listening to this album while spending time outside in the spring weather – I can guarantee it will make you feel happy.
