Halloween is only one week away, which means it’s time to pick out a costume. I’ve put together a list of costumes from A-Z they are all simple, and cheap ideas.

A- Archie Comic Book Characters: The Archie comics have become more popular since the television show Riverdale was released. There is so many simple Archie character costumes you could make. You can grab your pearls and be Veronica, put your hair in a ponytail and be Betty or grab your pom-poms and be Cheryl in her River Vixens uniform.

B- Ballet Dancer: This is one of the simplest costumes. You can put on a tutu and a leotard. Put your hair in a bun and you are a ballet dancer. If you want to take the costume one step further you can be a character from your favorite ballet like the black swan, white swan or sugar plum fairy.

C- Crayon: A crayon is such a fun costume. Most costume stores have crayon dresses you can use for your costume. If you want to DIY your costume make sure you wear one color from head to toe, and print out a crayon logo to add to your shirt or dress. You can even be the entire box of costumes if you want.

D- Disney Princess: There are so many Disney princesses to choose from. You can be anyone from Cinderella to Moana. You can even create your own costume by wearing a dress the same color as the one your favorite princess wears. If you don’t want to be a Disney princess you can be a regular princess by throwing on your favorite dress and a tiara.

E- Elf: If you just can’t wait for Christmas incorporate some Christmas spirit into your Halloween costume. You can be an elf by putting on your favorite Christmas sweater and an elf or Santa hat. You can even buy some elf ear covers to give you the pointy elf ear look.

F- Fairy: A fairy is such a simple costume. You can put on a dress, a tutu or some fun leggings. The costume allows you to wear just about anything and incorporate your own style. The key to this costume is some fairy wings and maybe a magic wand. To add a special touch you could wear some glittery makeup too.

G- Ghost: Now I know what you’re thinking, but this costume is anything but basic. You don’t need a white sheet to be a ghost this year. Wear your favorite white clothes, and DIY some details that will take your costume from boring to brilliant. Add some glitter and fun accessories to your ghost costume for a simple, anything but basic ghost costume.

H- Harry Potter: If you love the Harry Potter books and movies than this is the costume for you. Use a red eyeliner or marker to re-create the Harry Potter scar. Grab some round glasses, and a magic wand. This costume is simple. Your besties can even dress as Ron and Hermione for an awesome group costume.

I- Incredibles: “The Incredibles” is returning with a sequel next year so why not dress as one of the heroes this year. You can buy an Incredibles costume at your local costume store. If you want to use things you already have instead you can wear all red, some black boots and add the Incredibles logo to your costume. You can even paint on your own mask with some black eyeliner and eyeshadow. Plus it makes a great family costume; you and your fam can be the entire Incredibles family.

J- Jenner Sister: You can dress up as either Kylie or Kendall Jenner. To be Kylie all you need is your phone for selfies and some matte lipstick don’t be afraid to overline your lips. For clothes you can go red carpet Kylie and wear your favorite dress. To be Kendall, part your hair through the middle, and wear your favorite runway model clothes.

K- Kim Possible: KP was a childhood favorite for many of us, so why not dress up as her for Halloween. You can easily be Kim by wearing cargo pants and a black shirt. If you want to take the costume in another direction you can be Kim in her cheerleading uniform. You can order a cheap purple and yellow cheerleader uniform online, and add the Middleton High School logo to it.

L- Little Red Riding Hood: If you love storybooks, then you will love dressing up as Little Red Riding Hood. You can wear a black or red dress, and throw on a red coat or red jacket with a hood. If you still go trick or treating you can carry a basket, like you’re going to grandma’s house and use it to collect your candy.

M- Minion: Ever since the first “Despicable Me” movie came out this has been a favorite costume for so many people. You don’t even have to buy this costume, you can use items from your wardrobe. A simple yellow tee with overalls will instantly transform you into a minion. An extra addition would be some goggles for a finishing touch.

N- Nerd: This costume is another one that won’t require a trip to the costume store. You can wear anything “nerdy” a plaid shirt, high waisted or anything else that fits the nerd look. Accessories are the key to the costume. Suspenders, a tie, nerd glasses and some books will make the costume even better.

O- Olympic Athlete: You can dress up as your favorite Olympian. This costume can be very personal to your style. You can put on a leotard to be a gymnast, a swimsuit to be a swimmer, a tennis skirt to be a tennis player or any other sports clothing to be another Olympic athlete. Don’t forget to wear a medal to complete the costume.

P- Police Officer: This is another really fun costume. You can wear navy blue from head to toe, anything works a tutu, a dress or some pants. You can wear a cap or officer style hat too. Don’t forget to pick up a badge at the costume store or print out your own.

Q- Queen: For this costume all you need is a dress or ball gown. Wear a crown and carry a scepter to show how regal your costume is. If you want to take the costume in a different direction you can be an evil queen. All you need to transform your look from queen to evil queen is some dark makeup.

R- Ringmaster: You can be the leader of the circus with this costume. Wear a top hat, a red coat and some boots to create this costume. You can incorporate fun accessories like a whip or cane to take the costume one step further. The costume can easily be made into a group costume if your friends dress like clowns and circus animals.

S- Superhero: Weather you are a Marvel or DC fan you can dress as your favorite hero. There is so many options to choose from; Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and more. You can definitely use clothes from your wardrobe to create the superhero costume of your choice. If you don’t want to be a specific hero you can always throw on a cape and be your own superhero.

T- Tin Man: Wizard of Oz fans will love this costume. Wear any silver clothes you have for a simple tin man look. You can paint your entire face silver or pop on some simple silver eyeshadow for that extra tin look. Have your besties dress up as Dorothy, The Lion and the Scarecrow for an awesome group costume.

U- Unicorn: Girls of all ages are obsessed with unicorns lately so it’s only fitting to dress up as one. This is another costume where you can really incorporate your own style. You can wear basically anything from leggings to a tutu. It’s a good idea to stick with white and pastel colors. The key to the look is a unicorn horn, which you can easily make with a headband. After you put your horn on throw on a boa or any other fun accessories you might want to wear.

V- Vampire: You will probably run in to several other people dressed as vampires, but you can definitely incorporate your style to be the cutest one. Wear black from head to toe to get the vampire look. Buy some fangs at your local costume store. Then get creative with your makeup add some fake blood near your fangs, thrown on some maroon lipstick and some black eyeshadow. You will definitely be the cutest vampire this Halloween.

W- Witch: I know what you’re thinking this is another super common costume. While you will see several people dressed as witches you can easily add your style to this costume as well. You can wear black or purple, and a witch hat to achieve the look. If you want to be a good witch you can wear pink or any other color you like. This costume can be original and stylish.

For clothes you can wear some black leggings and a brown shirt with a lighter brown sweater. This costume is super fun, and your friends can be Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.

Z- Zoo Animal: I’m a zoo animal… duh! If you loved Regina George’s mouse costume in Mean Girls now is your chance to dress up as an animal too. You can wear basically anything you want. If you have a leopard or tiger print shirt that would be the best option. After that all you need is some animal ears to complete the costume.
